chang|e one’s mind

i have this bad habit of ending my sentences with but or and when i speak.  whenever i talk to people, sometimes i just trail off with “blah blah blah, and…”  and that’s it.  that’s the end of my statement.  i’m surprised people don’t yell at me about this.  i would find this really annoying.  still confused as to what this looks like?  i’ll try to give an example:

some dude: hey enoch, what’s going on?

me: oh, nothing much, classes are going well and…

[long awkward pause]

some dude: yeah so, i started a new job this week

so this is how a lot of my conversations go.  i dunno what it is, i just can’t figure out the rest of my sentence, or maybe i just want to talk so much that i try to start a sentence even though i know i can’t finish.  gosh, so annoying.  how can i fix this?  talk more?  talk less?
