can anybody out there hear me? pt. 2

mcflyso as i sat in one of my classes, the professor asked the class a question.  while some people raised their hands, others started blurting out answers.  this isn’t uncommon.  it happens all the time in class, this class especially.  i had something i wanted to contribute (which is rare), so i waited for the constant barrage of answers to die down before i found my entry point.  i gave my answer from the second to back row to which the professor replied, “i think i heard something from the back.”  mind you, no one else was talking at this point.  so i repeated my answer louder this time.  the professor only responded with a blank stare and a horrible attempt to repeat the words i said.  i repeated again, this time yelling the answer as clearly as i could, enunciating each word.  i swear you could hear the crickets chirping in the background as the whole class looked back to see who this new voice was that was giving an answer.  the professor again tried to repeat and make sense of the words i had just said.  after thinking a little while and after repeating the words exactly in the order that i said them finally understood what i had said and confirmed a correct answer.  after this i commented to my friends around me, “this is why i don’t say anything in class.”  one of my friends replied with, “the story of your life…”

i don’t think it’s the fact that i’m soft spoken or i don’t speak loudly or clearly enough.  honestly, i think people don’t hear me.  i mean, i can have a pretty loud voice sometimes so i don’t think it’s volume issues.  maybe it’s because i don’t talk much, that when i do, people have no idea where the voice is coming from?  or maybe people are more taken aback by the fact that i said something that they don’t pay attention to the actual words i said?

can anyone hear me?  hello?  mcfly?  anyone?

maybe, ALL of ur classmates are like you, better at tuning in to the music.. they might not be good at hearing ppl’s voices.. you should try to sing them your answers 😉
